A Hellenistic terracotta statue of Eros riding a goose. This lively little sculpture shows Eros seated atop a large goose, with his arms around the goose’s neck in what must be a very plaful moment. Beatufiully rendered, and highlighted with pigments throughout. These finely moulded figures, often highly decorated, rose in popularity during the 4th and 3rd centuries B.C. Common themes include fashionable women, gods and godesses, heroic athletes, and bacchanalian merriment.
