A small Hellenistic terracotta sculpture of a seated woman playing a lyre. The figure is shown with a lyre in her left and her right hand on the strings, capturing her musicality. These finely moulded figures, often highly decorated, rose in popularity during the 4th and 3rd centuries B.C. Common themes include fashionable women, gods and goddesses, heroic athletes, and bacchanalian merriment.
