This vessel is a striking piece in its subject matter and fine craftsmanship. The figure is crouched with bent knees and holds a large vessel on his back with a rope. Overall, the piece is smooth in appearance across its body with the exception of the spinal column which is uniquely molded on the back. The bony spine that is raised off from the sculpture and may also symbolize that this man is a hunchback. The vessel is painted with red slip with white geometric incisions along the entire front surface of the figure, which add decoration as well as anatomical details for the eyes, fingers, and toes.
