What an expression! It is truly remarkable how an artist can be so sensitive in depicting a certain character through two indentions for the eyes and applied nose and mouth. His character may be perceived differently by each of us. This is the gift the artist has given to us. He appears to be wearing nothing to our modern day standards, but perhaps the earrings and interesting headband were the proper protocol for “clothing” during his time. He is a man of importance who sits regally in his nudity. There is something very harmonious and flowing in his posture and body gestures. His arms softly rest on his knees, creating a flowing line from his shoulders through his legs and eventually terminating at his feet which are set wide apart. It is purely an enjoyable experience admiring this figurine and dreaming of his life and of the culture he once belonged to.
