Classical antiquity is a broad term for a long period of cultural history centered on the Mediterranean Sea, comprising the interlocking civilizations of ancient Greece and ancient Rome, collectively known as the Greco-Roman world. It is the period in which Greek and Roman society flourished and wielded great influence throughout Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Scowling fiercely, holding a club over one shoulder and brandishing a pointed weapon in his other hand, this warrior confronts his unseen foes. He wears a red kilt with undulating stripes, and a crested, conical helmet, but his chief armor seems to be his aggressive attitude. Who, encountering this man on the battlefield, would not be intimidated.
