This unusual vessel makes us wonder what the artist’s original intent was when he completed this work. We see two heads, joined by an abstract body. Was this piece meant to signify a freak of nature, the joining of sibling’s flesh, which shared their organs in one body? Today, we call such a deformity Siamese twins. Or, on closer inspection we notice how different both faces are. Is one a female and the other male, joined in a guise of purity? Does one, perhaps, represent the spirit and the other matter? Or, the Yin and Yang of life and eternity. We may never know for certain. But, it is a stunning tribute to life and relationships. A romantic testament of getting along with one another and letting peace and harmony prevail.
