The artist of this magnificent work of art captured the omniscient power of a ruler within this community. This man is perched on top of this vessel, ready to go fishing. The decorations on this large headdress are powerful, showing a small head on the front. The large amount of jewelry this man is adorned with exemplifies his high status. It is immediately clear that this man is a shaman, a magic man, an intermediary between our world and the spiritual world due to the lobster-like features emerging from this man. The claws appear out from his legs, and shoulders. This person most probably represents someone lost in the underworld, and thus has a fish costume over his body except his hands.
