This tablet has a total of 28 lines of Sumerian cuneiform on the obverse and reverse. It is dated to a year of Enlil-bani, king if Isin in southern Mesopotamia c. 1861-1837 B. C. The year-name given does not supply us with the year of his reign, since although he reigned 24 years, only 16 year names are so far known, and their order is not known.
Translation:
1/3 musar: a vacant plot of land, more or less, the plot of Ali-abusha, wife of Bitu’a, adjacent to plot of …na and Apil-Sin: as its full price 3 shekels of silver were weighed out. Apil-Sin purchased it from Ali- abusha. In the future Ali-abusha and her heirs, as many as there may be, may not claim the plot. She swore by the king.
In the presence of Kililum, son of Rish-beli Aha-nishu, son Ili-iddinashu Ibbi-Adad, son Adad-rabi Ilushu-bani, son of Sni-remeni Apil-Sin, son of Ana-Sin-e.[..] Ur-Nin[llil], son of Na… Month Tashritu, year: Enlil-bani, the king, made a golden statue for Nin-isina.
The upper lower and left edges, and a space between the end of the document and the date all bear impressions of the seal of:
Ali-abusha, wife of Bitu’a.
The tablet is very well written and is in good condition save for a few spots of surface damage. A musar was an area of 12 x 12 cubits.
