Sudhanakumara is one of the acolytes of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Guanyin) and is paired with Dragon Girl (Longnü). This configuration is coherent with the traditional Hindu-Buddhist arrangement of a master as the central figure and two disciples by his or her side. His hands are usually depicted in worship gesture, highlighting his identity as a disciple.
This sculpture excels in delivering the details of clothing, especially apparent in the exquisite depicting of his floating scarf. The posture and facial features present a highly energetic and attentive outlook. – (HK.2046)
