A rhyton (plural rhytons or rhyta) deriving from the Ancient Greek verb “?e??”, which means “to flow”, is a conical container from which fluids were intended to be poured in during a sacred or religious ceremony. Rhyta of conical form have been known in the Aegean region since the Bronze Age, or the 2nd millennium BC., however, they were by no means confined to that region. – (LO.1367)
