Perfume flask or Rosewater sprinkler (qumqum), cast bronze with engraved decoration. The globular body rests on a tall and slightly splayed base, with a sloping shoulder and slightly raised base for the short waisted neck which opens up on its upper part and has series of ribs below the rim. The base is decorated with series of down-turned lambrequin arches; there are alternately two round medallions and two lobed cartouches on the body; the medallions have peacocks, while the cartouches display typical Khorasan floral motifs. A pseudo- Kufic inscription runs around the nshoulder. Iran, or Afghanistan, 9th – 10th century. Prof.Geza fehervari Prof. Geoffrey king
